Unless otherwise stated, all field trips will carpool from the parking lot at Basha's on Highway 69. Please contact Doug Iverson at 541-9304 to let us know you are going on a particular trip. (This does not apply to bird walks at Highlands Center or Watson Woods.)

Participation in Prescott Audubon Society field trips is voluntary; any injury or illness while on an outing is the responsibility of the participant. Food, drink, and other creature comforts are not provided by Prescott Audubon Society. Car pooling is done so fewer vehicles are driven. Prescott Audubon Society assumes no liability for accidents, injuries, damage to vehicles, or loss of property in vehicles while on the field trip. Compensation for drivers of private vehicles is suggested as follows: 0-20 miles: $3.00; 21-50 miles: $5.00; and 51-100 miles: $8.00. Over 100 miles is $10.00, or by agreement with the driver.

Reminders:
*  Wear neutral clothing,
*  Bring water, lunch, and sunscreen,
*  Avoid bright colors,
*  Don't forget binoculars!

Multi-day Trips
(Russell Duerksen)

Russell plans on leading a camping field trip to the Chiricahua Mountains of Southeast Arizona during the period of June 6 to June 10, 2008.  We will visit 8 different biomes/life zones during the six days, and will attempt to see in excess of 150 species, among which are 10+ hummingbirds, Elegant Trogon,  Red-faced and Olive Warblers, Mexican Chickadee ,Short-tailed Hawks, 6 owls, 3 tanagers, 3 orioles, 3 thrashers and many others.  The only fee is a $75.00 donation to the Audubon Education fund of your local chapter.  If you wish to participate and desire more details, contact him directly at duerksen@msn.com , 928 636 4916 or 402 782 3770.

He is also considering running a 5 day trip to the Monteray CA area in August or early September, if there is sufficient interest.  The trip involves 3 days on land, one day on a boat in Monteray Bay, and one day on a pontoon in Elkhorn Slough.  In past years the cost, including lodgings has run about $650 per person, including a donation to your Audubon chapter. However, in light of the rise in fuel prices, he estimates that it will be considerably higher should he do it this year, probably in the $750-900 range.  If you have any interest in this, let him know.  If he has at least 5 people interested, he will work up more detailed dates and costs.
