Field Trip Committee Report

A Message from Lisa G., our New Field Trip Leader

Hello everyone! As many of you may know, I am the new Field Trip Coordinator for PAS. I was lucky enough to inherit the list of trip location and event ideas from Sue Noonan and the Field Trip Committee that were discussed at an earlier meeting. I have included that list below. I would greatly appreciate if all of you could review this proposed schedule and contact me about leading a trip (or two…..!) or an event in 2026. You will see that a few months/dates are confirmed but most are wide open. If I am understanding the scheduling and website posting process correctly - I would say that if you are able to do a trip in January/February/March - the actual trip location, date, time and maximum number of participants would be needed now. Anything from April through the end of the year, just let me know the month and location of your trip and we can firm up the details later. If you are able to pick a specific date now - that works too! The schedule below is flexible so if anyone has an interest in leading a trip to a different location - just send me the location and date information and I will share that with the Field Trip Committee so your idea can be included. If anyone needs information about what is involved in leading a trip or event, please get in touch with me. I may be able to answer your questions myself - or I can connect you with an experienced trip leader. Please email, text or phone me with your trip/event interest - or if you have any questions or suggestions. If multiple people express an interest in the same trip location - we will work that out! Thanks in advance for your participation. Happy Birding! Lisa G.   Contact me at [email protected]

So far, we have planned a New Years Day Walk 1/1/26, the annual February Great Backyard Bird Count, a visit to the Gilbert Water Ranch and perhaps a March trip to a warmer region such as Badger Springs/Agua Fria or Bumblebee Ranch.

Ideas for spring that need a trip leader include:
Rockin’ River Ranch State Park
Willow Lake North Shore/White Dot Trails
Black Canyon City Heritage Park
May Event Bird-a-thon May 9 2026 - Event Global Big Day
 Walnut Creek
Jail Trail
Dead Horse State Park
Or perhaps you have a birding spot in mind that interests you...
 - just send me the location and date information and I will share that with the Field Trip Committee so your idea can be included. If anyone needs information about what is involved in leading a trip or event, please get in touch with me. I may be able to answer your questions myself - or I can connect you with an experienced trip leader.

If you are passionate about birding, Prescott Audubon invites you to consider joining the Field Trip Committee—either as a contributing member or as a trip leader/coordinator. To express your interest, simply send a note to [email protected] if you are interested in becoming a part of this team.

Thank You!
